Background
I'm a Colorado Front Range flight instructor who earned my CFI certificate in 2026. I'm a University of Utah graduate, and flight instruction brings together the two things I care about most — a deep love of aviation and a love of teaching. There's nothing better than watching something finally click for the person in the left seat.
I started Skyler Aviation to teach the way I learned best: when we're in the airplane, my attention is entirely on you — no corners cut, no padded hours. Your time and money go toward real progress, backed by study tools that actually prepare you for the oral and the checkride, not just the written.
Whether you're starting from zero, knocking out a flight review, or polishing maneuvers before a ride, training here is built around your goals, your schedule, and the airspace you'll actually fly in.
Why train here
When we fly, my attention is entirely on you — every lesson planned and efficient, with no corners cut. No padded hours, no busywork; just steady progress toward your certificate.
I'll teach you to fly the right way — building real judgment and solid habits, not just checking boxes for the test. The goal is simple: make you the safest, most capable pilot you can be while reaching the goals that brought you here.
Interactive oral-exam practice and scenario drills you can run between lessons, so ground time is spent flying — not catching up.
The Aircraft
I fly — and own — a Mooney M20K, and I'm in it a lot.
So if you're looking for Mooney transition training, I'm definitely your guy. Real time in type, and a focus on learning to fly it well, not just checking a box.
I also used to own a Mooney M20E, so I know the airframe across models — what changes between them and what stays the same. That hands-on, owner-level familiarity is exactly what I bring to a transition.
For primary training and checkouts, I'm also well versed in Pipers and Cessnas — so whether you're learning to fly or stepping up to something faster, we'll work in the aircraft that fits your goals. I also have access to a Piper Archer we can train in.
